Copy for Black owned Financial Website
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Hi! I'm working on a new website for a financial planner. I need someone that is financially literate that also knows Black Culture/African American History. This company is speaking directly to African Americans on subjects like wealth building, financial security, and money matters.
The company is young, so we'd also like to take on that personality too. 26-36 age group. The content you come up will help give this vision some shape and personality. Black history references, wordplay. I'd like a lot of culture infused with financial talk. That also includes a little bit of Hip Hop culture. My early ideas and mockups made a few references to rap lyrics about money and they loved it.
I'd like to start out with the About Us page. My hopes is that that will lay a foundation and hopefully spill into the rest. The content needed should be a little less than 1 page. I will come up with the sections.
Finding the right copywriter is tough. I'm looking for someone that can do this long term, at least every month coming up with content for the site. Blogging is on the back burner until we can get the rest of the site and brand looking good.
I do write copy myself, but I consider this technical copy. The finance nor the black part comes to me naturally.
I am a believer in the whole "Start with Why" idea from Simon Sinek. That means the majority of our work will be brainstorming and concepting ideas before we even write a rough draft. Understanding the vision and really knowing why we do things will lay the ground work for everything and it will ensure that the ideas presented to the consumer are seamless and believable.
I envision this taking about 3-4 days working a few hours everyday. I think taking it slowly in the beginning allows for ideas to settle and sink in. We'll brainstorm together for an hour or two in the beginning and get the ideas and concepts just right. Dial in the lingo till it's perfect, and then I will let you loose on the copy.
