Australian writer for high‑stakes GoFundMe campaign on lifelong complex trauma, systemic harm & iatrogenic medical harm

Job ID: 40436493

Budget: ₹750 – ₹1,250 INR

I am in great need of an extremely compassionate and experienced Australian writer to craft a high‑stakes GoFundMe campaign story (around 3,500 words, with some flexibility) that can turn an extremely complex, lifelong story into donations. This is not a typical GoFundMe campaign. It is about keeping me alive in the only place/my home, which is the only place I feel safe.

I already have extensive part‑drafts, emails, notes and clinical reports. There is a lot of crossover and cross‑referencing because my health and brain function have deteriorated. I no longer have the functional capacity to sort through it all, separate what belongs where, or condense it for you — and for that I apologise profusely. You will need to spend at least about 3 hours reading what I send and work out what is repetition and what is essential before you start writing.

My medical reality

My life has been shaped by lifelong complex trauma, systemic harm and iatrogenic medical harm, including:

• Iatrogenic medical harm that has caused permanent damage to my body and endocrine system, leading to secondary hypoadrenalism and leaving me anaphylactic to around 90% of standard pharmaceutical medications.

• Iron‑deficiency anaemia that now cannot be treated with iron infusions, iron tablets or blood transfusions, because the same medication that caused the iatrogenic harm triggered allergic reactions to all of these.

• Complex PTSD and a very rare 2/100,000 condition called conversion disorder linked directly to childhood trauma, with pseudo‑seizures and pseudo‑comas that are clinically distinct from epilepsy. These episodes can last up to 36 hours, during which I cannot move, feel, see, hear, speak, eat, drink, go to the toilet or call for help. It can take days for my body to return to homeostasis.

• Long‑term post‑concussion syndrome. Using technology or reading from left to right can quickly trigger blackouts and neurological flare‑ups; when that starts, I must stop using devices so my body has a chance to recover.

My physical body and nervous system are at breaking point and I do not make cortisol properly, even small stresses or not being listened to can tip me into a pseudo‑coma. If that happens, it may be 24 hours or more before I can respond. I am telling you this so you understand that if I go quiet, it is because my body has shut down, not because I am disengaged.

Housing, finances and lack of informal supports

I have lived in my current private rental home for 13 years. I cannot access public housing due ti my complex presentation, whereby I need large open space planning and a very particular environment to stay as safe as possible. If I lost this property, it would almost certainly put me completely out of the rental market. I am already beyond my limits; this home is my only safe haven. If I lose this, I have nothing and nowhere to go.

I am on the Disability Support Pension, and 86% of my pension goes directly to rent, leaving about $190 per fortnight. That does not even cover groceries for a fortnight, let alone utilities, medications I can tolerate, phone/internet, or other basic survival costs. What is left after rent is not evenly remotely close to what I require just for the right to be alive.

I have no informal support at all. My family were the source of trauma; they are toxic to my health and I cannot have them in my life. When I was working as an executive, friends treated me as the “brains trust” and the “bank”; everyone came to me with their problems. When I became unwell and could no longer work, they assumed I was so capable that I should be able to help myself. That broke me. I had to set boundaries and stop taking on their problems. Once I was no longer useful to them, most drifted away. I am in debt to two friends who have helped keep me alive, they can no longer carry this, and I do not want to lose those friendships over money that came from their kindness.

I have no one to borrow from, no access to loans, and no other avenues left.

What the GoFundMe story must do

The GoFundMe campaign needs to:

• Clearly explain why I must stay in this particular rental and what losing it would mean for me.

• Show that I need help to cover basic survival costs my pension cannot reach (safe food, utilities, essential medications/consumables, phone/internet).

• Make it clear that I need some capacity to access safe support outside the systems that have already caused iatrogenic medical harm.

• Do all of this in a way that moves donors from understanding to actually donating, without turning my life into trauma‑porn.

This story is stage one of a larger effort. I still need to find other people to help with:

• Marketing and promotion (including someone who can help me work with my LinkedIn contacts).

• Bringing an influencer on board.

Once the story is written, there will be at least 6–7 weeks of work for me to plan and implement the marketing myself, because I do not have a budget to pay someone to run it.

How I work and what I need from you

Due to my complex presentation and deterioration, I have limited energy and functional capacity. Most days it takes everything I have to try to care for myself and my dog. I will respond to you as quickly as I possibly can, there will be times when I cannot use technology at all or when my body is in shutdown and I simply cannot reply.

I need someone who:

• Is genuinely trauma‑informed, compassionate and calm.

• Is comfortable working at my pace, not at a rapid one.

• Follows instructions carefully, so we do not create avoidable stress that could push my nervous system into another pseudo‑coma.

You will:

• Handle highly sensitive, confidential medical and personal information.

• Spend at least around 3 hours reading my material before writing.

• Keep my key terms and framing: lifelong complex trauma, systemic harm, iatrogenic medical harm, permanent damage to my endocrine system, unsafe in mainstream services, conversion disorder linked directly to childhood trauama, pseudo‑seizures, pseudo‑comas, secondary hypoadrenalism, iron‑deficiency anaemia that can no longer be treated, and return to homeostasis.

• Present complex information in plain, grounded, accurate English that donors can follow.

If you are comfortable, I would like to put a simple one‑page non‑disclosure agreement in place before we start. If you are strongly opposed to signing an NDA, I am open to hearing your reasons so we can work through them together; I do not want this to automatically exclude the right person, though I do need to protect highly sensitive clinical and personal information.

Fee and success bonus

• Fixed fee: $500 AUD (reflecting the reading load and likely 3,500‑word length).

• Success bonus: If your work helps my GoFundMe campaign reach $100,000 AUD or more in confirmed donations (my overall target is $200,000), I will pay a $1,500 AUD success bonus.

The success bonus is my way of recognising what this work is truly worth particularly if your writing helps save my life. I am not looking for someone to “do it cheap” and give me a cheap story. I need someone who is skilled, compassionate, and wants to help turn this story into real donations.

I deeply respect the unique gift of writing and your ability to convey emotion while telling my story. I understand the enormity of your skills; it is not something everyone possesses. I acknowledge that what I am asking for does not align with the compensation I can offer initially (unless I reach my $100,000 minimum target). I have taken a NILS loan in Australia, available to those receiving government support, to make ends meet. This is the maximum I can borrow, given that I am on payment plans for essential services.

I recognise that your worth surpasses my budget. My hope is to connect with a writer who resonates with my story; a writer confident in their ability to craft a narrative that compels readers to donate, regardless of the amount.

I anticipate that bids may be limited, and I hope my sincerity and honesty will attract the right person for this high-stakes, life-saving project. I will include a short contract offering $AUD1,500 if my GoFundMe campaign reaches $AUD 100,000. I believe that if my story is articulated clearly, highlighting the harm, trauma, injustice, and abandonment I have faced by those who were supposed to protect me, it will resonate with many.

When you bid

Please only bid if you are genuinely comfortable with:

• my medical reality (including pseudo‑comas and shutdowns), and

• the fact that I cannot move quickly or always reply straight away.

In your proposal, please include:

• 5–6 sentences in your own words describing a situation like mine (lifelong complex trauma, systemic harm, iatrogenic medical harm, unsafe or blocked mainstream services, needing funding to stay in an existing rental and meet basic survival needs), so I can see your natural style.

• A brief example of past work with sensitive or trauma‑related stories (with identifying details removed).

Why you want to take on this project?

I am at a critical junction where this is my final advocacy attempt to preserve my life. Whoever takes on this project will forever be integrated into my journey, as your words could truly save me.

Thank you for your consideration.
