I have a collection of family-friendly story manuscripts that need a polished, reader-ready finish. I’m looking for one attentive proofreader who can deliver a thorough review—catching every grammatical or punctuation slip, flagging inconsistencies, and suggesting light stylistic tweaks where wording feels rough.
What you’ll do
• Read each manuscript in full, marking corrections with tracked changes in Microsoft Word (or your preferred equivalent).
• Provide a concise style sheet noting character names, key terms, and any recurring edits for consistency across the series.
• Offer brief margin comments when sentences could flow better without altering my author voice.
What I’ll hand over
• Multiple story files (each under 3,000 words) in Word format.
• A simple guideline on tone and vocabulary so everything stays age-appropriate and family-oriented.
Deliverables
1. Clean, finalized Word files ready for layout.
2. Mark-up versions showing all edits.
3. A summary sheet of issues spotted and resolved.
If you’ve handled children’s or family literature before, please highlight that experience. A keen eye, respectful communication, and reliable turnaround time are my top priorities.
