Proofread Family Book Manuscript
Budget: £10 – £15 GBP
I have compiled a full-length family book—essentially a “Family” document in book form—and it is ready for thorough proofreading. The manuscript mixes narrative sections with photos, dates, and lineage details, so consistency of names, dates, and formatting is as important as spotless grammar, punctuation, and style.
You will receive the draft as a Word file and may work with Track Changes; a clean copy plus the marked-up version will complete the hand-off. Please keep an eye out for:
• Typos, spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors
• Inconsistent use of family names, places, and dates
• Awkward phrasing or unclear sentences that interrupt the flow
• Uniform application of headings, captions, and page numbers
No structural editing is required—this stage is purely “Proofreading.” Once returned, I will lay the text out for print, so accuracy and a light editorial touch are key.
If you have a background in family histories, memoir, or similar projects, that experience will be appreciated, but a sharp, meticulous eye is the real priority.
