Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I have two PDF manuscripts—one is a work of fiction, the other an educational text—and I’m looking for a meticulous proofreader who can bring both up to Chicago Manual of Style standards.
The job involves:
• Correcting all grammar, spelling, and punctuation issues.
• Ensuring formatting consistency across headings, page numbers, spacing, and fonts.
• Flagging any content inaccuracies or obvious factual slips so I can review and amend them.
Both files are already laid out, so I’m not asking for a full redesign—just a careful pass that leaves me with:
1. A clean, print-ready PDF for each book.
2. A marked-up version (Word with Track Changes or annotated PDF) showing every adjustment you made.
Familiarity with long-form novels and instructional material is essential, as is a solid grasp of Chicago style. If you have InDesign or Acrobat editing skills, even better, but precise language work is the priority.
