I’m an independent author self-publishing my memoir through Amazon KDP. The manuscript is complete and has been through my own editing passes. I’m looking for a copyeditor to give it a clean polish — grammar, punctuation, spelling, and consistency — followed by a proofreading pass.
The most important thing I’m looking for: the memoir has a deliberate voice — dry, spare, deadpan, with short punchy sentences and endings that let the facts speak. I want my voice preserved. I’m looking for someone who corrects mechanical errors and flags genuine problems, but does not smooth out or rewrite intentional style choices. Light touch, not a rewrite.
