Article-to-Book English Translation
Budget: $15 – $25 AUD
I have an in-depth article written in another language and I want it transformed into a flowing, book-length manuscript in English that any member of the general public can enjoy. The task goes beyond a straight, literal translation: the tone, structure, and pacing should read naturally in English, with chapters or sections arranged so the material feels like a cohesive book rather than a stitched-together article.
What I will provide
• The original article in its entirety
• Any reference notes or source materials that accompany it
• A rough outline of how I imagine the chapters might break down (open to your professional input)
What I expect back
• A polished English manuscript in MS Word or Google Docs, fully copy-edited and formatted for standard print and e-book sizes
• Clear, jargon-free language suitable for everyday readers while preserving the author’s voice and intent
• A brief change log or comments on any passages where meaning required interpretation
Ideal background
You’re fluent in both the source language and English, have previous experience translating long-form works, and understand how to adapt content so it appeals to a broad audience without oversimplifying nuanced ideas.
Please include two samples: one from a prior translation project and one short extract showing how you would handle a paragraph I will send upon request. I’m ready to begin as soon as I find the right collaborator and I’m happy to discuss milestones to keep the project on track.
