Adult Essay Magazine Launch
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I’m putting together the inaugural issue of a small literature magazine for adult readers, with the spotlight firmly on essays. Every piece should invite reflection and carry a serious, thought-provoking tone; even the occasional short story or poem I slot between essays needs to meet that same intellectual weight.
I already have a preliminary lineup of contributors. What I need now is a skilled partner who can shepherd these texts from raw manuscript to a polished, beautifully laid-out publication that works both in print and online.
You will:
• Copy-edit each essay for flow, voice consistency, and Chicago style, returning files with tracked changes so I can review every adjustment.
• Design a clean, minimalist layout in Adobe InDesign (or comparable software) and supply the packaged source plus a press-ready PDF and an EPUB/flip-book version.
Acceptance criteria
• No grammatical or factual errors remain after your edit.
• Typography, margins, and image placement stay consistent cover to cover.
• Final files pass pre-flight with my chosen printer and load flawlessly on common e-readers.
Total length: ~40–50 pages, six to eight essays. If this pilot issue runs smoothly, we can discuss an ongoing collaboration for future editions.
