Project Overview

Lane Automotive is looking for an experienced E-Commerce Manager to help improve the performance, merchandising, and customer experience of our direct-to-consumer ecommerce business.

This is a freelance, remote opportunity for someone who understands how to grow an ecommerce storefront through better site experience, stronger merchandising, smarter conversion optimization, and data-driven decision-making.

We are looking for a person who can take ownership of ecommerce performance and help us improve how customers discover products, evaluate options, and complete purchases across our digital storefront.

What We Need

We need a freelancer who can help us manage and improve key areas of our ecommerce business, including:

Site performance and customer journey
Ecommerce merchandising
Product detail page quality
Conversion rate optimization
Landing page and category page improvements
Reporting and performance analysis
Cross-functional coordination with internal teams

This role is ideal for someone who can think strategically but also execute hands-on.

Scope of Work
1. Ecommerce Storefront Management
Improve site structure, navigation, and product discovery
Maintain a strong and clear customer journey across the site
Support homepage, category page, landing page, and campaign updates
Help ensure the site reflects business priorities and supports revenue growth
2. Merchandising & Conversion Optimization
Improve onsite merchandising across key pages
Optimize product visibility, cross-sell, upsell, and promotional placement
Identify opportunities to improve conversion rate and average order value
Strengthen customer confidence through better product presentation and journey flow
3. Product Detail Page Improvements
Improve PDP content structure and quality
Help refine descriptions, product highlights, trust elements, specifications, and decision-support content
Identify missing content or friction points that may block conversions
4. CRO & Testing
Recommend and help execute A/B tests and ecommerce improvements
Identify quick wins and longer-term site optimization opportunities
Improve usability and reduce friction in the shopping experience
5. Analytics & Reporting
Monitor performance across conversion rate, revenue, AOV, funnel behavior, category performance, and product performance
Build or maintain reports and dashboards
Turn findings into practical recommendations and action items
6. Collaboration
Work with internal teams including Marketing, Merchandising, Product, Operations, Customer Experience, and Technology
Help align ecommerce execution with broader commercial priorities
Coordinate effectively around launches, campaigns, and ongoing optimization work
Ideal Freelancer

We are looking for someone with:

2+ years of experience in ecommerce management, digital commerce, or DTC ecommerce
Proven experience managing or improving an ecommerce storefront
Strong knowledge of ecommerce UX, merchandising, CRO, and conversion improvement
Experience improving PDPs, landing pages, category pages, and navigation
Strong analytical thinking and reporting ability
Ability to work independently and take ownership
Strong communication and project management skills
Nice to Have
Experience in automotive, aftermarket parts, enthusiast products, or technical ecommerce categories
Experience with large product catalogs
Experience with specification-heavy or fitment-heavy ecommerce businesses
Experience working with agencies, developers, or CRO partners
