AI Avatar Developer / Interactive Digital Character Engineer (for ROBOT Kombucha Brand)
Project Overview:
We are seeking an experienced AI developer or creative technologist to bring our ROBOT Kombucha character to life — transforming our existing branded design into a fully interactive, intelligent, and autonomous AI avatar capable of engaging real people in real time. The goal is to create a friendly, approachable, and futuristic digital host who can converse naturally with visitors at markets, festivals, or online — discussing gut health, guiding people through a short health survey, and encouraging sign-ups to our ROBOT Kombucha subscription programme.
Scope of Work:
The successful candidate will develop a real-time, voice-activated avatar that can both listen and respond to humans in conversation using AI-generated dialogue. The system should allow the ROBOT to:
• Recognise and process live speech (speech-to-text) in noisy environments.
• Understand conversational intent (via large language model or fine-tuned dialogue system).
• Generate natural, on-brand responses (text and spoken output) in a friendly “robotic” tone of voice.
• Animate our ROBOT Kombucha character (2D or 3D model provided) with accurate lip-sync, facial movements, and gestures.
• Operate in two modes:
1. Human-controlled (live puppeteering mode) for events or marketing demos.
2. Autonomous AI mode where the ROBOT conducts live conversations without human intervention.
• Follow structured conversational flows: e.g. greeting users, asking health-related survey questions, identifying gut health issues, explaining solutions, and leading users toward sign-up.
• Optionally integrate with our CRM or form system (e.g. Shopify or custom database) to record responses and new leads.
Technical Preferences:
Experience with AI avatar platforms (e.g. RAVATAR, Convai, eSelf AI, Unreal Engine Metahumans, or similar) is ideal. Skills in speech recognition (ASR), conversational AI (OpenAI / Anthropic / custom LLMs), voice synthesis, and real-time animation are essential. Strong understanding of pipeline integration (camera → mic → AI → avatar → voice → output) is expected.
