This is full-time, on-site role based in west London, UK.

We are fast-growing tier one automotive company based in west London at Park Royal Concord. The company specialises in the design, development, manufacture, and supply of advanced technology products which are line-fitted to world-famous prestigious cars in Europe, USA, India, and China.

Due to our continued growth, we are currently looking for Embedded Software Engineer on a contractual basis to work at our offices in London assisting to engineering team.

As an engineer with proven skills and expertise in embedded software development, you will be working as part of a team of hardware and firmware engineers. Your mission will be to advance innovation and help expand the portfolio of products of the company.
The position reports to the Lead Engineer but will at times have work priorities set by other Senior Management.
Responsibilities:
§ Development of new powerful embedded electronic firmware solutions and improvements of existing ones.
§ Review code and design.
§ Testing and Validation of all new development and improvements to ensure robust comprehensive solutions.
§ Designing, developing, coding, testing and debugging system software.
§ Support software QA and optimise I/O performance.
§ Provision of solutions for challenges affecting new and existing products.
§ Provision of Technical Support to customers and suppliers and implementation of any modifications as may be deemed necessary.
§ Analysing and enhancing efficiency, stability and scalability of system resources
§ Application of proper project management processes with complete documentary record to ensure safe keeping and traceability of constructions, modifications and improvements at all times.

Knowledge, skills and experience

§ Proven knowledge of Programming in C for 8 to 32 bit Microcontrollers such as NXP/Freescale, ST, PIC, etc.
§ Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer Review.
§ Knowledge of communication protocols – CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C, UART.
§ Ability to read electronics schematics;
§ Practical Knowledge of Excel Spread-sheet and Power Point Presentations, Gerber file readers, 3D and 2D design and simulation softwares such as Matlab Mulab and the like.
§ Desirable: proven experience in developing firmware for Electromechanical Drive Mechanisms, Motor-Driven Power Actuators, Safety Critical Dynamic Systems for industries such as aviation, automotive, rail, defence or marine.
§ Knowledge of statutory regulations and industry standards.
§ Good general knowledge of PCB layout and circuit design and discrete electronic components.
Qualifications
Minimum: Secondary Education (i.e. A-level or equivalent)
Desired: Higher Diploma or Degree in relevant field.
