Heroku Setup & Git Guidance

I have already cloned the Heroku “nodejs-getting-started” repo and installed its dependencies locally; now I’d like to use the project purely as a sandbox for learning. My focus is two-fold: understanding Git best practices around version control and getting the full Heroku tool-chain in place so I can experiment later with deployments.

What I need from you right now is hands-on help creating and configuring my Heroku account, installing and verifying the Heroku CLI, linking it to Git, and confirming that a sample push could work (no production deployment yet). Clear, step-by-step instructions or a short live walkthrough that works on macOS will be ideal, plus a concise written recap I can refer back to.

Deliverables:
• Heroku account fully set up, CLI authenticated and tested
• Local repo linked to a new Heroku app (without final release)
• Written recap of every command used and what each one does
