Write Toddler Nature Book

I’m creating a board book for babies and toddlers (0-3 years) that introduces the wonders of animals and nature in a warm, soothing way. I need a children’s writer who can craft a short narrative or series of rhythmic, repetitive vignettes—roughly 150–250 words total—ideal for lap reading and bedtime.

The tone should be gentle and playful, with simple phrasing that encourages parent–child interaction (think sounds to mimic, words to repeat, or peek-a-boo reveals). Because I’ll pair the story with clean, simple line drawings, please include a brief illustration note for each page or spread so the artist knows what to sketch. No full art required on your side—just clear direction such as “A sleepy fawn curled under a tree” or “Bumblebee buzzing over wildflowers.”

Deliverable:
• Manuscript (Word or Google Doc) of 10–14 pages/spreads, 1–2 sentences each
• Matching illustration notes that align with the text

I’ll review the draft, give one round of feedback, and expect a final polished version ready for design and illustration handoff. If you’ve written for board-book audiences before or have samples featuring animals and nature, that’s a big plus.
