Write African Folktale Stories -- 2
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am putting together a fresh collection of African folktales that double as motivational bedtime reads. The audience is broad—toddlers, young children, older kids and even adults who enjoy a good story—so the language needs to be clear and engaging for any age while never feeling childish or watered down.
Each tale should carry a strong moral lesson at its core yet strike the right balance between light-hearted fun and thoughtful reflection. I want readers to laugh at a clever animal trickster one moment and pause to think about courage, honesty or perseverance the next. Authentic cultural detail is important: settings, customs and references should celebrate Africa’s rich diversity without slipping into cliché.
Deliverables
• A mutually agreed number of original folktales, 600–1,000 words each
• One concise moral takeaway after every story
• A short glossary explaining cultural terms that might be new to international readers
Acceptance criteria
• Stories must be plagiarism-free and pass a Grammarly check
• Tone consistently blends playful elements with moments of reflection
• Moral lesson is clear, natural and never preachy
If you love weaving traditional themes into modern storytelling and can keep listeners of every age eager for the next night’s tale, I would love to see a brief sample or outline with your proposal.
