Spanish Localisation — Elementary Chemistry Book
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
We are looking for a qualified Spanish translator to help us localise an elementary-level chemistry book from English into clear, accurate, and student-friendly Spanish.
The content is educational and foundational. The task is precise translation and localisation, not content creation. Translators must preserve scientific accuracy while adapting language so concepts remain easy to understand for beginners.
This is an open project with potential for multiple chapters and future editions.
CONTENT TYPE
Chapter titles and section headings
Short explanatory paragraphs
Definitions and key concepts
Simple examples and summaries
Diagrams captions and callouts
Review questions (non-problem-solving)
TOPICS INCLUDE
Matter and states of matter
Atoms, elements, and compounds
Basic chemical reactions
Acids, bases, and salts (introductory level)
Laboratory safety and everyday chemistry
LOCALISATION GUIDELINES
Neutral, international Spanish (LATAM preferred unless specified)
Age-appropriate, clear, and instructional tone
Maintain scientific accuracy and terminology
Use simple sentence structures for early learners
Avoid over-technical or university-level phrasing
Flag terms that differ by region and suggest standard alternatives
TARGET AUDIENCE
Spanish-speaking elementary or early secondary students
Beginner chemistry learners
Classroom and self-study readers
DELIVERABLES
Localised book content (Word / Google Docs / InDesign-compatible files)
Terminology consistency across chapters
Optional translator notes for terminology or pedagogical choices
Ideal candidates have experience translating STEM or educational materials and are comfortable adapting scientific content for young learners.
