Spanish Children’s Story Translator

Job ID: 40034643

Budget: $8 – $15 CAD

I have a small series of Spanish-language children’s stories, each running roughly 500–1,000 words. They are written for curious 7- to 9-year-olds and include gentle explanations of science, history, and everyday life. I need clear, engaging English versions that stay faithful to the original narrative while sounding natural to a young native reader.

Please keep the tone educational and informative—think classroom read-aloud rather than playful rhyme—yet still lively enough to hold attention. I will supply the Spanish texts (Word files) and any notes on proper names or cultural references that must remain intact.

Deliverables
• One polished English translation per story, returned in the same document layout (DOCX or Google Docs as you prefer).
• A brief translator’s note below each story flagging wordplays or cultural nuances that influenced your choices.

Accuracy, smooth flow, and age-appropriate vocabulary are the priorities; literal word-for-word lifts are less important than clarity and comprehension. If you are comfortable working with CAT tools such as Trados or memoQ, feel free to use them, though a human-sounding final pass is essential.

Let me know your turnaround time for the first story and any relevant experience translating children’s material.
