Social Media Content Writer
Budget: $25 – $50 AUD
We’re a learning and development consultancy for organisations that want to thrive. Our clients are progressive L&D leaders who want to add real value to their organisations.
We believe success with social media posts is more than hashtags and beating algorithms - it’s about connecting, educating and nurturing clients, prospects and industry experts.
We stand for continuous learning, impact, collaboration and being pragmatic and are known for our global, forward-thinking, multi-award winning team.
We’re looking for someone to help us create, schedule and manage our social media posts for our weekly podcast.
This opportunity is suitable for someone who loves social media and copywriting and is flexible about how they engage with us. We are not looking for someone to provide social media strategy, nor do we want someone to manage all of our social media channels and we do not want someone who is only willing to engage with us through pre-defined service packages.
About the opportunity
This is a contract position, approximately 3 to 4 hours per week. Some podcasts are recorded and ready for social media posts creation in advance; other times, the turnaround can be tight (1-2 days).
You must also have close attention to detail, complete work accurately, without supervision and be a quick learner. You need to have reliable internet, a computer and a distraction-free work environment.
You can follow content prompts and source material provided, and combine that with your copywriting experience. You are aware of social media trends and able to recommend potential opportunities.
The role will combine the creation of social media posts for LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, updating Canva graphics (using existing templates) and scheduling posts in Buffer.
Communication is mainly via Asana and WhatsApp with the occasional Zoom meetings.
What this role will look like:
Review podcast show notes for crucial information for each podcast
Follow templated guidelines for each post
Over a one month period (4 podcasts) you will create:
8 x LinkedIn posts
6 x Instagram posts (also used on Facebook)
44 x Twitter posts
Update templated graphics in Canva with episode number, podcast title, guest name, guest photo, guest quote (where applicable).
Recognise adjustments required in Canva (such as centring, background removable, font size)
Identify grammar errors (British English)
Offer suggestions for improvements
Schedule posts in Buffer
Reliability to self-manage all of the above
Not essential but desirable:
Offer suggestions to improve processes and templates
Knowledge of, or experience in, the L&D Industry
Experience creating copy for podcasts
Examples of other social media accounts you manage
An understanding of what makes posts engaging
Things to know:
This is a contractor role and as such you will be responsible for your invoicing, tax and super.
We’re looking for someone with great attention to detail and the capacity to meet podcast deadlines.
We may require additional hours as further copywriting projects are added to this role as a reflection of your success.
How to apply:
This role is for someone who has read and understood all of the above, has the required capacity and shows initiative.
The first step is to complete our questionnaire via SurveyMonkey - https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/S3GSY2S
We will be reviewing applications from 1 December with the view to onboard the selected copywriter from early December.
