There are different types of social media, but my highlights are few but not limited to:
- SNAPCHAT
- TIK TOK
- GOOGLE+
- MYSPACE
- LIVE JOURNAL
- FACEBOOK
- LINKEDIN
- INSTAGRAM
- TWITTER
- OPEN DIARY.
The benefits of social media are enormous, some are:
(1) Social media helps students ease their academic works, they can take classes from
e-learning websites and discuss their learning and fears using various social media.
(2) It serves as marketing budget for business owners, online marketing campaigns are much less expensive than print media campaigns.

Some disadvantages of social media.
(1) The creation of service specific profiles.
(2) Avenues of distraction
(3) Retrogression of physical communication

Some ways to curb the negativity in social media:
The negativity of social media can be curb if the causes are known, some are:
(1) By Unfollowing all value-degraded people.
(2) Be mindful of when to stop scorlling
(3) Connecting with people that can inspire one's life.
