Russian Festive Drinks Travel Guide
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
I’m updating a small travel-style handbook on Russian cuisine and would like a skilled writer–editor to reshape it into an engaging guide for tourists who are curious about Russia’s festive food culture and, in particular, its traditional beverages.
Scope
• Spotlight the major holidays—New Year, Maslenitsa, Easter, Christmas, Victory Day—and explain the customs that surround food and drink at each celebration.
• Curate 10–12 authentic beverage recipes (kvass, sbiten, mors, medovukha, kompot, festive teas, etc.). Each recipe needs a short cultural back-story, step-by-step instructions, metric + imperial units, and easy-to-find ingredient alternatives for travellers.
• Fold in quick travel tips: where visitors can taste these drinks in Moscow, St Petersburg, Suzdal, and other popular stops, plus etiquette pointers so they feel confident ordering and toasting with locals.
Deliverables
1. A polished, print-ready manuscript of roughly 8,000–10,000 words in MS Word or Google Docs.
2. A companion recipe card pack in editable PDF (one card per drink).
3. Image suggestions or royalty-free photos for each holiday and beverage (links or files).
Acceptance criteria
• Friendly, concise tone aimed at first-time visitors, no academic jargon.
• All cultural notes fact-checked with reputable Russian sources.
• Recipes tested or clearly marked “untested” if you cannot verify.
• Final files pass Grammarly (or similar) with minimal issues.
