Label Artist Opportunities Dataset
Budget: $10 – $100 USD
I’m handing over a Google Sheet of roughly 2,500 artist-grant and residency listings that I scraped during my own research. Every row already includes the basics (title, link, deadline, fee, prize, etc.); what’s missing is a fast, informed verdict on whether that line is even worth an artist’s time.
Your job is simply to read, research where needed, and drop an “X” in the Good Opportunity column whenever an entry satisfies my quality bar. I’m fine—and even encourage—using GPT, browser extensions, or other AI helpers to speed-read and cross-check, but final judgement must be yours, not the model’s. Native-level English is non-negotiable; nuance matters here. This is a same-day/meant to be a relatively quick assignment as in I'd like to see if you can do it in one sitting.
Core criteria (all should be met, or overwhelmingly compelling in at least two):
• Reputable organization behind the call
• High visibility / exposure for the artist
• High financial reward (cash, production budget, or equivalent)
• Organization shows healthy public footprint (website, socials, press)
• Host is publicly funded or backed by multiple credible stakeholders
Importantly:
• The win would feel genuinely “newsworthy” for a CV
You’ll spot plenty of smaller, pay-to-play or vanity awards—those get no “X”.
Deliverable: Added "X" within a column on my spreadsheet indicating the above. Turnaround within 48hr is ideal, but tell me if you need longer.
