I am the HR Staffing Specialist for Community Interactions Inc. and I am looking to demystify the role of the Direct Support Professional. There is a misconception that working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities is tedious and full of chores, such as assisting the individuals with their activities of daily living, and while this is part of the role, most of the job involves engaging with them in their community, doing activities with them like sporting activities, bowling, going to movies and even going on vacations. I would like to highlight how fulfilling working with our individuals is, assisting them to meet their personal goals. Additionally, I want to showcase Community Interactions as the family organization it is. Founded by the desire for one brother to provide a different level of care for his sibling, the organization now employs families, some who were born while their parents worked with CI and eventually joined their parents at CI.
The main target audience would be young people who want to get more out of their job than just a paycheck. To spend their time contributing to making the lives of others better.
We are located in Delaware County, PA and Delaware and would require someone willing to film and edit content so proximity to our site is preferred. The ability to drive views is a plus. A history of creating viral content a definite plus.
