Children’s Story Translation ES & PT
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
I have a collection of short, educational stories written for children aged 3–5, and I need each one translated into both Spanish and Portuguese. Accuracy alone isn’t enough—I want the translations to sound as though they were originally crafted in each language, with simple vocabulary, gentle repetition, and a warm, engaging tone suited to very young listeners.
Scope
• Translate every story into Spanish and Portuguese, preserving meaning, rhythm, and age-appropriate wording.
• Adapt cultural references where it helps comprehension while staying faithful to the original lesson or moral.
• Supply each language version in a separate, clearly labeled Word or Google Docs file.
• Include a brief note per story (no more than three sentences) highlighting any cultural adjustments or wordplay that had to change in translation.
• Proofread both versions so they are publication-ready; I don’t want to run a second editing cycle.
What I will provide
The original English manuscripts, each under 800 words, along with simple character descriptions and any existing illustrations for context.
Acceptance criteria
• Natural, child-friendly flow in both languages.
• Consistent terminology across stories (you may use CAT tools or glossaries if helpful).
• No machine-translated feel—read-aloud clarity is essential.
If you’re fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese and have experience localising content for early childhood, I look forward to reading your proposal and timeline.
