Catholic Book Spanish Translation

Job ID: 39938881

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I have a 72,000-word English manuscript on Catholic spirituality that must be delivered in Mexican Spanish no later than 20 December. The target audience is Latin American Spanish, with vocabulary and syntax that feel natural to readers in Mexico.

Scope
• The original basic formatting should be preserved.
• Translate the full manuscript in four installments of roughly 20,000 words each.
• After each installment I will edit the Spanish text and return it within 96 hours. Then I would like you to do a final review pass and track any changes you make.
• Where an official Catholic Church–approved text already exists (e.g., Roman Missal, Sacred Scripture, Catechism, Vatican II documents), quote it verbatim and provide full bibliographic details so I can attribute copyright correctly. If you cannot find an online source of a specific text, ask me.
• Latin texts should be left verbatim, not translated.
• Flag any passage that lacks an authorized Spanish equivalent so we can decide on the best solution before you proceed.

What I need from you
1. Native-level mastery of Mexican Spanish and proven experience translating theological or spiritual works is helpful.
2. Familiarity with Church terminology, especially the sources listed above, is helpful.
3. Ability to track revisions clearly—Google Docs or Word with track changes both work.
4. Commitment to the schedule: first 20 k words within ten days of start, subsequent batches every ten days, final consolidated file by 20 December.

Acceptance criteria
• Consistent, theologically accurate terminology.
• All cited Church texts match the approved Spanish editions; bibliography included.
• No machine-translation artifacts; style reads as original Spanish.
• Final pass notes final corrected typographical errors.

If this timeline and workflow suit you, please outline your relevant experience and confirm you can meet the delivery cadence. I’ll share the manuscript upon awarding the project.
