Article and advance writing
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I’m commissioning a series of sharp, well-argued opinion pieces on U.S. politics for a major American newspaper. Each column should present a clear stance, back it with solid evidence, and invite readers to think beyond today’s headlines.
You’ll take complex political developments—campaign maneuvers, legislative battles, judicial rulings—and translate them into compelling commentary that an informed but busy reader can enjoy in one sitting. While politics is the core focus, there is room to weave in related social or economic angles whenever they strengthen the argument.
Deliverables
• A polished, publication-ready column for each assignment (final draft in Word or Google Docs, approx. 800-1,000 words unless the story demands otherwise).
• Sources cited with links or full references.
• A two-sentence abstract summarizing the main point.
Acceptance criteria
• Originality: passes plagiarism checks.
• Clarity: thesis stated in the opening, supported logically throughout.
• Balance: strong viewpoint yet fair representation of opposing perspectives.
• Deadlines met as agreed for each piece.
If you have a track record of political commentary, attach one or two relevant clips so I can get a feel for your voice. Let’s start with a single column; outstanding work can turn this into an ongoing collaboration.
