Antique Product Listing Writer
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
## Antique Catalog Writer (French Antiques, Research Validation & Listings)
I run a Provence-based antiques shop and am looking for help refining and validating our internal research into polished, compelling product listings for a discerning, design-focused audience.
This role is not about writing from scratch. You will be working from internally generated material including research notes, AI-assisted summaries, measurements, and photography, and transforming that into publication-ready listings that balance accuracy with strong, natural storytelling.
### Categories
You will primarily work across:
• Pottery
• Copper
• Glassware
• Faience
• Porcelain
### Responsibilities
• Verify historical details, materials, stylistic periods, and French terminology
• Refine and elevate descriptions so each piece feels distinct while maintaining a consistent, premium tone
• Structure listings with a clear title, engaging opening paragraph, and well-organized key details (dimensions, condition, era, origin)
• Ensure language is clean, natural, and aligned with a design-savvy audience rather than auction-house formality
• Flag any uncertainties, inconsistencies, or questionable claims for review
### What I’m Looking For
• Strong interest or background in antiques, decorative arts, or art history
• Excellent written English (native or near-native)
• High attention to detail and comfort working with imperfect or AI-generated inputs
• Ability to balance accuracy with restraint. The tone should feel informed, not academic or overly sales-driven
### Workflow
Items will be shared in batches via a shared folder.
You will return completed listings in a simple template, ready to be uploaded.
This is ongoing freelance work with flexible volume.
### To Apply
Please include:
• A brief note on your experience with antiques or historical objects
• 1–2 relevant writing samples
• Your rate per listing or hourly rate
--Bonus
Familiarity with French antiques such as Terre de Fer, confit pots, or copper cookware is highly valued.
Please avoid overly decorative or marketing-heavy language. Clarity and restraint are key.
