BrandAnime is hiring a news writer to cover anime, indie games, JRPGs, and gacha games.

This role focuses on short news posts based on official trailers and announcements.

Articles are quick to write and follow a simple format. Once you understand the workflow, most posts take around 10 minutes to complete.

We are looking for someone who:

• Follows anime and gaming closely
• Regularly watches trailers and announcements
• Can write clearly and quickly
• Understands how to source news properly
• Already knows how to use WordPress

This is an ongoing freelance opportunity with consistent work each week.

Important Requirement: WordPress Experience

Applicants must already know how to publish articles in WordPress.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Posting the article in WordPress
• Embedding a YouTube trailer
• Selecting a featured image
• Choosing the correct category
• Publishing the article

If you have never used WordPress before, this position will not be a good fit.

What You'll Be Writing

You will write short news posts covering:

• Anime announcements and trailers
• JRPG reveals and updates
• Gacha game announcements
• Indie game trailers and reveals

Articles usually contain:

• A short opening paragraph explaining the news
• An embedded official trailer
• An official synopsis quoted from the developer or studio
• Brief commentary about the trailer
• Developer or staff credits when available

Typical length: 150–300 words

Sourcing Rules (Very Important)

BrandAnime only uses first-party sources.

This means news must come directly from:

• Official YouTube trailers
• Developer or publisher websites
• Steam pages
• Official social media posts
• Press kits

You cannot source news from other websites.

Do NOT use content from:

• Anime News Network
• Crunchyroll News
• ComicBook
• CBR / ScreenRant / GameRant
• Any Valnet publication

BrandAnime articles must originate from official sources only.

Most news is sourced from official YouTube channels.

Examples include:

Anime publishers and studios

• Toho Animation
• Pony Canyon
• Aniplex
• Kadokawa

Game publishers

• Square Enix
• Atlus
• Bandai Namco
• Sega
• PlayStation

Gacha game developers

• HoYoverse
• Hypergryph
• Other mobile developers

Indie games can often be discovered through Indie Games Hub, but you must locate and embed the official trailer from the developer’s channel.

Posting Workflow

After writing the article you will:

Publish the article in WordPress under the News category

Add a featured image

Embed the official YouTube trailer

Publish the article

Share the link on Twitter/X

Workload

This is part-time freelance work.

Typical output:

3–5 news articles per week

Each article is short and should take about 10 minutes once you understand the format.
