Overview
We are launching a new UK-based pet food e-commerce store. We're looking for a freelancer to help grow organic traffic via on-page SEO, content strategy, keyword optimization, and off-page outreach.
Key Responsibilities
Perform SEO audit of current website and fix technical SEO issues
Conduct keyword research (UK pet niche focused)
Optimize all on-page SEO elements (meta tags, image alt texts, schema markup)
Set up and manage a blog, provide 2–4 SEO blog posts/month
Build high-quality backlinks from relevant websites
Monitor Google Search Console and improve rankings for top keywords
Assist with setting up Google Business Profile and local SEO
Provide monthly SEO performance reports
Requirements
Proven experience in organic SEO for e-commerce
Knowledge of Shopify or similar platforms (or willing to learn)
Strong English writing and keyword research skills
Experience with tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console, Ubersuggest
Bonus: Experience in the pet industry or consumer retail e-commerce
Duration:
3–6 months with option to extend

Open to hourly or fixed monthly retainer (£100–£200/month depending on scope and deliverables)
