Squarespace Memorial Art Site Design

I have already secured the Squarespace subscription and domain for a memorial website that will showcase my late brother’s paintings and poems. What I need now is an elegant structure so every visitor can explore his work intuitively and without visual clutter.

Layout
• Core display: a gallery with separate sections. Each section should feel like a curated room, allowing paintings and poems to shine individually.
• Mixed experiences: in addition to those dedicated sections, I want a few pages where selected poems sit beside the related paintings, creating a dialogue between the two art forms.

Essential pages and functions
• Biography – a warm, visually engaging timeline of his life and creative milestones.
• (Optional) Guestbook – I’m undecided on this, so please advise on tasteful ways to let visitors leave messages without distracting from the artwork.

Practical notes
• All artwork images and poem texts are ready for upload; I just need guidance on organising them into collections, tags or folders within Squarespace.
• I’ve started a basic template but am happy to switch themes if you can recommend one that stays minimalist and fast-loading.
• Please keep the navigation clean (no more than two levels deep) and ensure the site looks equally refined on mobile and desktop.

Deliverables
1. Page architecture mapped and built in Squarespace.
2. Galleries configured with lightbox or similar elegant viewer.
3. Biography page styled and populated (content supplied by me).
4. Clear instructions (or brief video walk-through) so I can maintain and add new pieces later.
