NYC Hyperlocal Community Builder

Job ID: 40006525

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I run a new, hyper-local website for New Yorkers and want a fellow city resident to help turn it into a lively online hangout. Your main responsibilities will be welcoming every new member as soon as they join, keeping conversations flowing, and adding short, neighborhood-focused videos directly to the site (no need to push them to social media).

Here’s what I have in mind:

• Greet each new signup within 12 hours, invite them to introduce themselves, and point them toward threads they might enjoy.
• Shoot or curate very short clips that capture street life, local spots, or hidden gems and upload them to the site several times a week.
• Start and moderate discussion threads that lean toward personal stories and experiences—think “my favorite late-night bodega tale” rather than generic news reposts.
• Keep the tone friendly, neighborly, and inclusive, stepping in if any friction arises.
• Track basic engagement so we can see which topics resonate and adjust content accordingly.

Acceptance criteria: consistent greeting cadence, at least three fresh video posts weekly, and demonstrable growth in active discussions over the first month.
