Timber Framing Two Homes
Budget: $50,000 – $100,000 USD
I am starting construction on two ground-up, traditional-style houses and need the full structural framing completed from sill plate to roof ridge. The design calls for classic timber framing executed entirely in wood, with all joinery, posts, beams and bracing installed to meet current residential building codes and the stamped engineering drawings I will provide.
Both houses share the same floor-plan footprint, and are adjoined (townhomes). Each house is 2,000 square feet on three levels (1,000 square feet per floor).
Deliverables
• Fully erected timber frame for Home #1, inspected and signed off (labor and materials)
• Identical frame for Home #2, likewise inspected
• As-built measurements and photo documentation for my records
I will mark each house complete once the frame is plumb, square, sheathed. If you have experience with traditional timber framing techniques—mortise-and-tenon joints, pegs, and careful hand-fitting—this project should feel right in your wheelhouse.
