Fast Marco Island, FL Set Builder
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I need a nimble set designer-builder who can move fast for our 80-seat community theater on Marco Island, Florida. Each show closes on Sunday night and the next one opens Friday, so you’ll have only Monday through Wednesday to strike the old set and install the new one.
Scope
• Create a functional, flexible box set for each production—think practical walls with windows, doors, and the occasional platform or staircase.
• Re-use what’s already in our storage unit whenever possible. We mainly work with wood, canvas, and any found materials we can source quickly and cheaply.
• Provide simple working drawings or sketches up front so our volunteer crew knows how each unit goes together and comes apart.
Schedule
The run spans multiple shows between December 2025 and May 2026. You’ll be on-site for every change-over (Mon–Wed), overseeing strike, build, and basic paint touch-ups.
Deliverables per show
1. Compact concept sketch with measurements and cut list.
2. Clear assembly plan that fits the three-day window.
3. Hands-on leadership during strike and install, ensuring the new set is safe, level, and performance-ready by Wednesday night.
