Construction Budgeting Project Manager
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
My construction project is still in the planning and design stage, and I want our cost picture to be rock-solid before we break ground. I’m looking for a project manager who can take full ownership of budgeting and cost estimation—everything from gathering trade quotes and benchmarking material prices to building a detailed cash-flow schedule that will guide the design team’s decisions.
You will work directly with my architect and structural engineer to translate their preliminary drawings into a line-item budget. This includes flagging cost-drivers early, suggesting value-engineering options when numbers creep, and updating the estimate as drawings evolve. I’ll rely on you to produce:
• A comprehensive construction cost estimate (labor, materials, overhead, contingency) broken down by CSI division
• A milestone-based budget tracker in Excel or Google Sheets that I can hand off to lenders and investors
• A brief risk and variance analysis so we understand which line items are most likely to shift before final GMP
Proficiency with industry tools such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift or similar take-off software is a plus, but what matters most is proven experience building reliable budgets for ground-up or major renovation projects.
If you’re confident forecasting costs at this early stage and can keep the numbers clear for the entire team, let’s connect and get started.
