CFO/Controller Part-Time Position
Construction company in need of a part-time CFO/Controller. This is a woman-owned, small business with over thirty years in the industry. This well-established company is seeking a candidate with the ability to fit in well with a small group, has strong people skills, and the ability the look at the bigger picture. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the Accounting and Admin Departments. The candidate will be responsible for the financial operations and assist in coming up with strategic plans to improve the company’s overall financial health. They will be managing a group of approximately six employees assuring that each department is operating smoothly and proficiently. They will need to work closely with the President to close the month-end reports as well as discuss job profitability. Pay for this position will range from $65.00 to $110.00 an hour depending on experience. Hours will be determined and operating Monday through Friday.
Qualifications
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
• Experience in the construction industry.
• Strong working knowledge of WIP.
• Up to date knowledge of SAGE software.
• Has the ability to effectively manage a small group of employees.
• Excellent verbal, analytical, and organizational skills
Responsibilities of CFO/ Controller but not limited to…
• Responsible for reviewing, verifying, and delivering all required financial reports accurately, and in a timely manner to President include but not limited to:
o Quarterly Construction Financial Statements
o Monthly Maintenance Financial Statements
o Monthly Overhead Analysis.
o Closing of year-end.
• Process all taxes, corporate filings, and Board of Equalization.
• Manage the Accounting and Admin Departments. (Approx. 6 employees)
• Oversight of receivables/ payables and financial forecasting.
• Review General Ledger monthly.
• Maintain fixed assets in FAS and calculate and record monthly depreciation.
• Prepare and input sales adjustment entries for WIP.
• Monitor AP aging and process AP weekly
• Record and reconcile accrued liabilities monthly.
• Assist in preparation of Sales & Use Tax Reports.
• Take ownership of A/R Aging reports by reviewing posted invoices,
• Completed contracts are reconciled and removed monthly with President’s approval.
• Submit and monitor monthly billing and unbilled backlog reports emailing by the 15th of each month to management (President/COO/CFO).
• Balance the A/R Aging reports to General Ledger. Review the A/R Aging reports and discuss monthly
