Backyard Shed Concrete Slab

Job ID: 40484676

Budget: $750 – $1,500 AUD

I need a new concrete pad poured in my back yard to serve as the foundation for a small shed. The slab must measure exactly 4.0 metres by 2.7 metres and be finished with a clean, even broom texture so it stays slip-resistant once the shed is in place. The slab will support only the shed and typical garden items—no vehicles or heavy machinery—so please design reinforcement and thickness accordingly to keep it solid without over-engineering.

Scope of work
• Excavate, compact the base, and set formwork to the stated dimensions.
• Place suitable reinforcement mesh and control joints to prevent cracking.
• Pour, screed, edge, and apply a uniform broom finish on the same day.
• Strip forms, tidy the site, and leave the pad ready for the shed installation.

Acceptance criteria
– Finished size within ±10 mm of 4.0 m × 2.7 m.
– Consistent broom finish with no trowel burns or standing water.
– Edges true and square; surface level within standard tolerances.
– Site left clean and waste removed.

Please include a brief outline of your approach, the concrete mix you propose, and your timeline from start to cure-ready hand-over.
