Residential Steel Beams & Columns
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I’m starting a new residential build and need a specialist who can take full responsibility for the steel frame—specifically all beams and columns. You’ll be working from my architect’s drawings to fabricate, deliver, and install the structure so the rest of the trades can follow on schedule.
Scope
• Review stamped structural plans, flag any clashes, and final-check all member sizes and connection details.
• Produce shop drawings (DWG or IFC) ready for approval; I’m comfortable with AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar formats.
• Fabricate the beams and columns in accordance with AISC standards. Certified welding and proper mill certs are mandatory.
• Transport the steel to site and complete the on-site erection, including bolted or welded connections, column plumb-up, and final torque checks.
• Provide a concise erection report and as-built set once the frame is signed off.
Acceptance criteria
1. Shop drawings approved by both my structural engineer and local inspector.
2. Members fabricated within tolerance and delivered on the agreed date.
3. Frame erected square, level, and plumb, ready for follow-on trades without rework.
4. All documentation (material certs, weld logs, torque reports) submitted before final payment.
