IDOT PE Highway Project Manager in Chicago, Illinois

Job ID: 40288054

Budget: $50 – $0 USD

I am about to launch a highway reconstruction job in Illinois and need a licensed Professional Engineer to serve as the project’s day-to-day manager. Prior, verifiable experience with IDOT procedures is mandatory because every submittal, inspection report, and pay estimate has to clear District review without delays.

Your focus will be on construction management and quality control throughout the reconstruction/repair phase. You will:

• Coordinate contractors and subs, maintain schedule and cost control with MS Project or Primavera P6, and keep ICORS records current
• Enforce IDOT specifications on workmanship and materials, issuing timely non-conformance notices and corrective action plans
• Sign and seal submittals, RFIs, change orders, and weekly progress summaries under your Illinois PE license
• Produce close-out documentation that meets all Bureau of Construction requirements

Deliverables must be provided in IDOT standard templates—baseline/updated schedules with three-week look-aheads, signed QC inspection reports and material test results, plus complete pay estimates and change-order logs ready for final audit. Acceptance is reached when the resident engineer approves each package without revision.

If you hold an active Illinois PE and have shepherded IDOT highway reconstruction projects from NTP to close-out, I’m ready to talk start dates and site access.
