Church Statue Installation & Inspection

Job ID: 39758899

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

Trinity Episcopal Church in Houston needs a licensed structural engineer to take full charge of placing a 6-foot, 600-lb marble statue on the limestone ledge above our main exterior doors.

The engagement starts with an on-site structural assessment of the existing ledge and surrounding masonry. I need stamped calculations and a brief written report confirming its load-carrying capacity or detailing any reinforcement you recommend. Once the ledge is cleared for use, you will coordinate the crane service that will hoist the statue into position, oversee the actual lift, and verify that the anchoring system is installed exactly to your specifications.

When the statue is secured, a final safety inspection and sign-off—covering connections, load transfer, and surrounding stonework—will close the project. Clear communication, proper insurance, and respect for the church’s schedule are essential so that services can continue uninterrupted while work proceeds outside.

Deliverables
• Stamped structural report with calculations and recommendations
• Anchor and reinforcement design (if required)
• On-site supervision of crane lift and placement
• Post-installation safety inspection report confirming compliance with your design

I will make access available and ensure the statue and crane are on-site; you bring the engineering expertise. Let me know your earliest availability and any questions about site conditions.
