eQuest Modeling for DOB Compliance

Job ID: 39957021

Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD

I need a complete eQuest energy model that satisfies New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) requirements for a new-construction project. The sole purpose of the model is to obtain DOB approval by demonstrating full energy-code compliance.

Scope
I already have an engineer finished a report and simulation, but he is not good at getting it approved by the DOB. I have the DOB meeting recorded, to show you what the DOB wants.

• Build a detailed baseline and proposed model in eQuest/DOE-2 for a mid-rise, ground-up development.
• Calibrate inputs to align with the latest NYC Energy Conservation Code and ASHRAE 90.1 Appendix G rules referenced by DOB.
• Generate all DOB submission forms, summary tables, and the formal compliance report package ready for upload to DOB Now.
• Highlight any design optimizations needed to keep us within code if the initial run shows shortfalls.
• Provide the complete project file set—.inp, .pd2, and output reports—plus a brief walkthrough (screen share or recorded) so my team understands the assumptions.

Acceptance
The submission is considered complete when:
1. eQuest files open without errors and simulate to completion.
2. Baseline vs. proposed results clearly show code-required percent savings.
3. All DOB checklists are filled out and formatted exactly as the portal expects.
4. I receive native files and a PDF of the final stamped report.

A solid grasp of eQuest, DOE-2, and NYC DOB energy-code nuances is essential. If you’ve shepherded at least one new-construction project through DOB energy review successfully, I’d love to see your sample report or redacted approval letter with your bid.
