Scaffold Design Review & CAD Drawing

Budget: $750 – $1,500 CAD

Prelinary Design and details completed already. Needs to be reviewed and drawn in CAD style. Once reviewed by structural engineer, it must be stamped by a structural engineer licensed in Ontario CANADA.

I’m putting together a reusable, freestanding buttress-style scaffold that will travel from site to site with my masonry crews (anywhere from five to ten people). The goal is a single engineered package I can submit to General Contractors and inspectors across Ontario without having to commission a fresh design each time.

Design criteria
• Must safely support crew‐plus‐material loads for typical masonry work, free-standing with buttress supports only—no ties to the building.
• Intended for year-round use in Ontario, so wind, snow and temperature considerations need to be factored in.
• Medium-level detail is fine: clear overall dimensions, member sizes, connection notes and load tables where required.

Regulatory framework
The drawings and calculations have to satisfy the Ontario Building Code, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and the relevant CSA Standards for Scaffolding. A Professional Engineer licensed in Ontario must review, sign and seal the final package.

Required views & format
The finished submission should be a concise 1–2-page PDF stamped by a professional engineer of Ontario Canada that includes:
• Elevations
• Plan view
• sections (more if it clarifies the buttress arrangement)
Measurements, labels, material identification and sizing and any critical notes need to be readable when printed at 24"×36".

Deliverables (acceptance criteria)
1. Signed and sealed PDF drawings (1–2 pages) showing elevation, plan and sections, with dimensions and load data.
2. Companion calculation summary or notes sufficient for permit submission (can be appended or separate).
3. Confirmation that the design complies with OBC, OHSA and CSA scaffold requirements.
