Glass Restaurant Structural Analysis

Job ID: 40058598

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

We are looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to perform a complete static analysis, structural modeling, and material calculation for a 20m x 30m glass restaurant, using 8mm tempered glass and a steel structural frame.

The design will be based on a real existing restaurant; we will provide a reference photo, and the new structure must be 95% visually similar to the one shown.

Project Requirements
Main Objective

To analyze the provided photo of an existing restaurant and:

Identify the structural system used

Determine appropriate steel profiles and sizes

Design the structure using the same architectural concept (95% similar)

Perform a full static analysis and build a complete SkyCiv model

Calculate all required loads and generate a professional engineering report

Detailed Tasks

✔ Analyze the reference photo to recognize the steel frame type and structural layout
✔ Recreate a structural design 20m x 30m, matching 95% of the original concept
✔ Model the full structure in SkyCiv.com, including:

Supports

Sections

Connections

Load combinations
Calculate site-specific loads including:

Wind load for Gostivar, North Macedonia (engineer must verify wind speed according to Eurocode or local standards)

Snow load for 20–30 cm snow

Load on 8mm tempered glass panels
✔ Provide a full structural report exported from SkyCiv (PDF)
✔ Provide a list of recommended steel types and dimensions
✔ Provide drawings/sketches illustrating the design and reasoning behind each structural element

Deliverables

Complete structural model in SkyCiv
Full static analysis report (PDF)
Material list + steel section specifications
Drawings or diagrams of the structural system
Notes explaining design decisions and safety checks

Required Qualifications

✔ Proven experience in structural design for buildings or large glass structures
✔ Strong understanding of Eurocode (wind load, snow load, load combinations)
✔ Experience with SkyCiv or similar online structural analysis tools
✔ Ability to interpret and reverse-engineer designs from photos
✔ Professional communication in English
