Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am finalizing the plans for a 5,900-sq-ft custom residence—4 bedrooms, 4.5 baths, an oversized 4-car garage, plus a bonus room— and now need a structural expert to engineer the roof truss package. The great room spans a clear 34' × 55' and the master suite measures 21' × 50', so your design must keep those spaces column-free while staying efficient, buildable, and cost-responsible.
Wood (pine 2"X4") is my preferred material and I’m leaning toward a king-post configuration; if you see a smarter way to achieve the same architectural intent, I’m open to your reasoning. I will rely on you to deliver complete truss layouts, engineering calculations, and permit-ready drawings. A Georgia professional stamp is required only if you already hold that license, but please list every state in which you’re registered so I can plan for permit submittals.
Beyond producing the drawings, I’ll need you to:
• Coordinate your truss design with the overall house plans so framing lines, bearing points, and mechanical chases all align seamlessly.
• Flag any constructability or cost-saving adjustments early so the builder and I can act on them before fabrication.
When you respond, include your structural qualifications, current licenses, examples of comparable residential work, and an estimated turnaround time with your rate structure. The sooner we can lock in the truss package, the smoother the rest of this build will go.
