Climate Zone Correction Home Renovation
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
As the homeowner, my builder mistakenly had my house built per Climate Zone 2 design but I'm located in a zone 3b environment. The problems persist with an incorrect altitude and inaccurate location reference which has resulted in faulty equipment like the BTU furnace and the Ton A/C.
I need an experienced contractor/handyman to:
- Revise the house design, acknowledging the actual climate zone, location, and altitude.
- Reinstall the correct BTU furnace and appropriate Ton A/C according to Zone 3b standards.
Suitable candidates should possess excellent home renovation and remodeling skills. Proficiency in handling HVAC systems is a key consideration. Knowledge of differing climate zone architectural requirements would be desirable.
My location zip is 96022 the IECC shows my location as a 3b, I live about 140 miles north of the 38 Latitude line they used. They used an altitude of 95ft when actually I'm at 530 ft, High average temp is around 107F and low is around 26F. My furnace rating is: Input 72,000 and output is 68,400 BTU(h). A 4-Ton A/C conder has 48,000 BTUs with a 4-Ton A/C coils 19" tall into an 18" coil box. The HVAC system never shuts off and runs 24/7 and only cools the home down 10 degrees from the outside heat. This is a newly built home, I believe the duct system is too small to handle what is needed.
