Dystopian YA Superhero Screenplay

I’m developing a feature-length screenplay for teens and young adults set in a dystopian future that still lets a spark of hope break through the shadows. The tones I’m after are "character development" and “hopeful with dark elements,” so the world should feel oppressive yet never entirely devoid of light or possibility.

The central driver of the plot must be in moral and ethical dilemmas. Every major twist should force characters—especially the hero—to weigh personal survival against the greater good, question authority, and confront the fine line between necessary rebellion and destructive revenge.

Our protagonist commands powers—think of , water, air, perhaps even lightning—rather than telekinesis or raw strength. These abilities need to be visually striking but used in ways that reveal character rather than just fuel action; clever, emotionally charged set pieces are preferable to nonstop spectacle.

To keep the project on track, I’d like three concrete deliverables:
• A detailed beat-sheet or outline covering character arcs, act breaks, and key moral crossroads.
• A complete first draft (approx. 90–120 pages, standard screenplay format, Final Draft or Fountain).
• A polished, dialogue-tight final draft incorporating my notes.

I welcome writers comfortable with superhero lore, YA themes, and dystopian world-building who can blend action, emotion, and tough ethical questions into a page-turning script.
