Abstract Physics Book Illustrator
Budget: £18 – £36 GBP
I’m finishing a physics manuscript and now need the visuals to bring the ideas alive. Between eleven and twenty illustrations are required, all in an abstract style that can capture new concepts: ball-waves, rotating transverse waves, that sort of thing. I’ve already mapped out some of the specific requirements what I need is your visual interpretation and execution. While I have only about five fully thought through, the number will increase with success in the first few.
Some illustrations will benfit from being dynamic for the on-line book
Because some of the material is subtle, I would like to sit down in Brighton (or close enough for an easy commute) and walk you through each scene so that the imagery is scientifically faithful yet visually engaging. After that, we can handle refinements online.
Preferred workflow is digital—Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate or equivalent—so the artwork can drop straight into InDesign.
Deliverables
• 11-20 finished illustrations supplied as layered PSD or vector SVG plus flattened high-res CMYK TIFF (300 dpi) ready for print
• Web-optimised PNG copies for the e-book edition
• Two rounds of revisions on each piece to ensure the visuals align with the narrative and textbook layout
Acceptance Criteria
Artwork should:
1. Convey the intended scientific message when shown without captions.
2. Maintain a coherent abstract visual language across the entire set.
3. Meet the technical specs above and be delivered by the agreed milestones.
