Swimming Safety Monitoring System Design
Budget: $15 – $25 AUD
I’m developing my final-year Design & Technology major work around water safety and need a robust swimming safety monitoring system created fast. The core objective is real-time safety monitoring that instantly recognises when a swimmer is in distress and notifies supervisors without delay.
I’m open to the most effective approach you can deliver quickly—whether that’s a wearable sensor set, a vision-based pool camera solution, smart buoys, or a hybrid of these. What matters is proven, repeatable detection of hazardous situations (e.g., prolonged submersion or lack of movement) and an immediate audible and mobile alert.
Deliverables
• System architecture diagram showing all hardware and data flow
• Complete component list with datasheets or purchase links
• Fully commented firmware or software (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, OpenCV, etc.) ready to compile and run
• Alert interface mock-up (mobile or web) demonstrating how supervisors receive notifications
• Concise test protocol confirming detection within 2 seconds and continuous operation for at least 30 minutes
Acceptance criteria
• Prototype or simulated demo clearly shows automatic detection and dual alert (sound + push/message).
• All code, diagrams, and documentation supplied in editable formats.
Timing is critical: I need the first functional draft within one week and the final package as soon as possible after that. If you have hands-on experience in IoT, embedded C/C++, Python, sensor fusion, or computer vision for safety applications, let’s make this happen right away.
I have a:
- ESP32 wifi and bluetooth board
- Arduino Tri-axis tilt senser from jaycar
- Arduino active buzzer module
- socket to socket jumper leads
