AI Steel Framing Take-Off Software

Job ID: 40560415

Budget: $3,000 – $5,000 USD

I’m building an AI-driven tool that can read structural drawings and instantly produce a clean, reliable steel material take-off. The core workflow I have in mind is:

• Import: User drops a PDF or native CAD file into the app (both Windows desktop and a lightweight browser version).
• Parse: Your algorithm identifies every structural-steel member, sizes and lengths included, and groups them automatically by section.
• Visualise: A basic 3-D isometric of the framing appears so the user can sanity-check the extraction before pressing “approve.”
• Cost: Once approved, the software outputs two figures—estimated raw material cost and fabrication cost—calculated from editable rate tables.

I don’t need connection bolts, finishes or other high-fidelity details right now; a clear structural outline is fine as long as quantities are accurate.

Deliverables
1. Working prototype able to handle at least one sample PDF and DWG, running on Windows and through a browser.
2. Source code with clear instructions for local build/deploy.
3. Short user guide showing how to upload a drawing, review the model, and export the take-off with pricing.

If you have experience combining computer-vision, CAD APIs, and cost-estimation logic, let’s talk about milestones and timelines.
