Python OCR Computer vision task
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
We’re looking for someone to help us build a data validation/ingestion engine where the primary source of data is company accounts and associated company documents which are filed in PDF form.
We've had a small team of people working on this to date but the results haven't been great and we now need to think about outsourcing the work.
In essence, we need to:
1. Download a PDF document from a central repository using an API (the documents are held in UK Companies House)
2. Extract the relevant information from the PDF and convert this into data
3. Ensure that the data is accurate and respective line items balance ie: the data matches the source information
4. Ensure that every stage of the extraction/ conversion process is audited
5. Be able to add new data sources
6. Be in a position to understand failures and the reasons why
The documents that you will need to process are unstructured ie: they don’t all follow the same page format (some are bigger, some are smaller), but they do all contain the same information that needs to be extracted and made into data.
This is time sensitive and therefore, need to understand how much time you would have to dedicate to a project and what you would need to succeed.
