Golf Ball Tracking System – Real-Time Trajectory Detection using OpenCV or YOLO

Project Description:
We’re building a lightweight, real-time golf ball trajectory tracking system. Your role will be to engineer a solution that works with handheld/mobile cameras and accurately detects the direction and motion of the ball immediately after putting.
Requirements:
Detect golf ball using OpenCV (preferred) or YOLO
Track the trajectory (left/right/straight) based on movement direction
Input: Live video feed (handheld camera/mobile)
Output: Real-time overlay + JSON data (e.g., position coordinates + direction label)
Bonus (not required but preferred):
Optimize for mobile camera quality
Filter out false positives due to grass/lighting/indoor noise
Frame-by-frame tracking using centroid detection or Kalman filtering
Deliverables:
Working Python script or app with clean architecture
Full source code with comments
Installation instructions + test video compatibility
