A REPORT ON THE SECURITY AND VULNERABLITIES INVOLVED IN CLOUD COMPUTING.
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
Abstract
The definition of cloud computing is that it is the practice of using a network of remote servers hosted on the internet to store, manage, and process data, rather than a local server or a
personal computer.
This technology overcomes the issues of using traditional data processing systems to store large data. The ability to access their data remotely at any time and from anywhere is an attractive option for businesses who may not be able to afford the hardware and maintenance resources required to keep their system running 24/7. There is a fear however that data held in the cloud that is remote from the organisation is therefore increasingly vulnerable to attack from hackers. This paper will try to explain the security issues for the cloud and possible resolutions for these issues.
The continuing surge in the use of cloud computing raises concerns regarding the security in the cloud. The 2020 Covid-19 pandemic caused a shift in the way people worked, from working on site to working remotely from home, often making use of cloud computing.
This report intends to highlight the ways in which organisations can respond to the constantly evolving security threat posed by storing their information in the cloud.
