Ongoing Home Network Maintenance

Job ID: 40430205

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I run a home network built around a set-up of routers and switches and I need a seasoned network engineer who can keep everything running smoothly month after month. The routine includes inspecting the devices for firmware, cabling or configuration issues, catching early signs of bottlenecks, and stepping in quickly when slow-downs, drop-outs or other connectivity glitches appear.

Alongside the day-to-day troubleshooting, I want the LAN and Wi-Fi tuned for best stability and speed, plus a light but regular security sweep to spot obvious vulnerabilities and patch them before they turn into problems. Most tasks can be handled remotely, but if you prefer or the situation demands it, let me know your availability for occasional on-site visits. Fast, clear communication is essential so I’m never left guessing about the network’s status.

To be considered, send a detailed project proposal that explains:
• how you would structure ongoing monitoring and maintenance,
• the tools you rely on (packet capture, SNMP monitoring, CLI or GUI-based management platforms, etc.),
• your typical response times for urgent issues, and
• a brief example of similar work you have done in a home or small-office environment.

I’ll review proposals on technical depth, clarity and how well they match the needs of a router- and switch-centric home network.
